The soil and rocks that Sojourner dug up, showed the same minerals that made up many Earth rocks, just in different amounts- or proportions
The land was dusty and windy, with no water moisture that could be found
Instruments looked for waste gas carbon dioxide like that on Earth, to determine if there was any life on Mars
