Weekends and Summer
Traditional life happens on weekends and in the summer when school is out
They spend each weekend hunting and fishing, and Billy becomes the teacher to his children.
He teaches the children the Eskimo ways, and what may be dangerous. He teaches them to anchor the boat; what thin ice means; how to shoot a gun to kill a seal or other animal
He makes sure they pay attention, just like in school, because living off the land is hard and there is a lot to be learned
