School is still part of the children’s lives
Billy and Alice still live by traditional Yup’ik ways- Billy hunts and fishes and Alice works at the school as a cook
The kids go to school and learn to type, and also learn to speak Yup’ik, in addition to English
The boys mostly would rather be out of school with their dad, hunting or fishing
Alice still wants her children to learn both outside and Yup’ik ways, so they have pride in their culture
