All over the southwest there are similar figures, called petroglyphs cut into the rock, all having different meanings
The Anasazi had other ways to mark the travel of the sun, including the 3 story adobe building known as the Casa Grande
At dawn, a person inside the Great House will see the sun shining through a small hole in the east wall . The spot strikes the west wall, and then disappears. This spot only hits this on days of the spring and fall equinoxes.
